Botzaktion fir d’Stadt vun d’Waldorfschoul 2023

The summer holidays always start a week later for the Waldorf School of Luxembourg, than for the public schools. Therefore, teachers and pupils used their last week of school to participate in the „Botzaktion“ organised by the City of Luxembourg.

Last week three of our Kindergarten classes as well as our 5th primary grade and the Vth secondary grade spent three hours each collecting waste in the streets of Limpertsberg.

The children of the Spillschoul enthusiastically cleaned up the ‘Parc Tony Neuman’. The other pupils cleaned on the outskirts of the Waldorf School grounds as well as in the surrounding streets, in front of other schools and at bus stops of Limpertsberg.

All children were equipped with tongs, gloves and garbage bags provided by the ‘Service d’Hygiène’ of the City of Luxembourg.

The aim of the campaign was to make the young people aware of the importance of properly disposing waste as oppose to throwing it carelessly on the streets or in green spaces.

Despite the labour some work the pupils had fun. Outside of their regular school activities they were able to make a positive contribution to the city community. They have definitely earned their summer holidays!
